Hello. I have a mare named Samina. She was a racehorse a few years ago. I adopted her because her previous owner could no longer care for her properly. I don't have much experience with horses and I think she needs special care with an owner who has time an experience. Over the last couple of years she has had problems with her feet. 3 abscesses (same foot over winter). Our terrain is not really suitable for Thoroughbred with softer hooves. Last winter we stabled her and she did much better. She has been wearing 2 front shoes. Recently I have tried field boots (borrowed for a trial) and I think she will do well in those. The vet is coming to see her so we can understand what causes her to be lame sometimes. Meeting November 14. I have tried hard to get a specialist equine vet but no one will come. Perhaps someone with other horses and good access to equine vet could offer her the care and rehabilitation that she needs. I have ridden her but I am now too heavy and of course with her problems it is not appropriate at the moment. She has all her papers. She is from a line of winning sires. Seen by the dentist 2 years ago. She moves beautifully when she is not lame. Our farrier sees her regularly and will be in attendance for the appointment with the vet. I don't want any money for her. I just feel that I am not able to take care of her properly and I somehow have caused her to have these problems with her feet. With care and attention she could make a wonderful horse for someone.
